Amanda is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Terence Dawson. Upon graduation from UBC in May 2020, Amanda was awarded the Catherine-Cooke Topping Memorial Medal for excellence in musical creativity and presentation. Amanda has performed in masterclasses for acclaimed pianists André Laplante, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Angela Hewitt at summer music festivals including the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Austria, Orford Musique, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute of Whistler. She was the recipient of a gold medal at the Alberta Provincial Festival in 2015, and has also received awards from the Canadian Music Competition, BC Bösendorfer Competition, and UBC. She is a grateful recipient of scholarships from the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Anne Burrows Music Foundation, Winspear Fund, and the Ranald & Vera Shean Memorial Scholarship. Currently, Amanada is pursuing a Master of Music in Piano at Indiana University, where she studies with pianist Evelyne Brancart. She is also an Associate Instructor of Piano at Indiana University, where she enjoys teaching piano to undergraduate music students.
